U.S. Senate candidate Jamie Radtke shared her thoughts on the Obama administration’s decision regarding the Defense of Marriage Act.
In her blog, the Tea Party candidate vying for Jim Webb’s seat criticizes the President’s move to block any court decisions using DOMA as a legal defense. Radtke said his administration is attempting to redefine marriage and is outside mainstream American values.
“The President seems to be trying to redefine the family and change the social culture that our nation has been blessed to have since its founding. The family is already in peril in our nation,” she said. “We’re seeing alarming rates of out-of-wedlock births and divorces that continue to split up families. We do not need to be redefining families, which are the basic building blocks of our society.”
Radtke is the former president of the Richmond Tea Party.
What’s your take? Is Obama’s decision outside of mainstream America?
