In a ruling made Spain’s Constitutional Court, 8 out of 11 judges upheld the decision made in July, 2005.

Over 21,000 same-sex couples have been married in Spain so far – it was the fourth country in world to legalize same-sex marriage.
Rutgers gives more details on the issue. They spoke with Jesus Generelo, a member of Spain’s National Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexual.

“This is not only an issue of fundamental fairness but also of economic viability.”
