RUN for ROSMY is a fundraiser for ROSMY to continue to fulfill its mission of ensuring equal opportunities for success for Virginia’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.
This event will coincide with the HCA Virginia 8K, AmFam Fitness Half Marathon, & Anthem Richmond Marathon that will be taking place on November 10, 2012.
Run for ROSMY participants first decide if they want to participate as an individual or as part of a team. Depending on that decision, you will set up a webpage for yourself or your group where you will ask your co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and maybe your Facebook friends or Twitter followers to donate so that you can run for ROSMY.
We want to make this process as simple as possible for you. If you would like to participate, please email Jamaica Akande at email@example.com with the following information so that we can track your progress and contact you about special participant activities.
Your name (individual participant) or name of your team’s primary contact person
Participant names (if a team)
Team Name (if applicable)
Contact information for primary contact person as well as all team members
(address, phone #, & email)
Photo(s) of you and/or your team
An instruction sheet will be sent to you to aid you in the process of setting up your fundraising page. We will send you weekly emails with helpful running tips, new verbiage that you can update your Facebook/Twitter status with or your FirstGiving page, and also an update on the progress of other teams so you will know where you or your team ranks amongst the others.
We believe in having a healthy competition to see which team, as well as which individual, can raise the most. And there will be prizes! Each participant will also receive a t-shirt, be invited to a pasta dinner on November 9th and a celebration after the race.
Thank you for your interest in RUN for ROSMY and for your support of the LGBTQ youth in our community! We appreciate your participation in this great event which not only allows us to raise funds, but also gives us the opportunity to cultivate new friendships, and all in a fun way.
