ROSMY has a busy month ahead with several events reaching out to the community. Starting off tonight, Wednesday, April 14 at Delux, the organization hosts their first Friends of ROSMY Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tonight’s event introduces potential volunteers to ROSMY and current supporters.
On Monday, April 18, at Pescados China Street, hosts a fundraiser for the organization and will be donating 15% of lunch and dinner sales to ROSMY from 11:30-2:00 or 5:00 p.m. until closing. The restaurant is on 626 China Street.
Around the corner, on April 30, is ROSMY’s Third Annual Prom at the First Unitarian Universalist Church. The prom gives LGBTQ youth a safe and alternative space to enjoy a special night out. Only youth age 14-20 are permitted with tickets at $5 each. This year’s theme is “Carnival!” and will include games, finger food, music, and more. For more information on the event, contact Lee Staube at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ROSMY’s mission is to ensure equal opportunities for success for Virginia’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth through access to support, education, and advocacy. Friends of ROSMY is a young professional group dedicated to supporting ROSMY by enhancing awareness in the Richmond community, broaden the volunteer base, and helping to raise resources.
