RTP’s Creative Director Phillip Crosby applied for the grant in March and said it’s one of the more approachable grants he writes every year. This is the third time RTP has received funds from Culture works; last year the money was used for hiring a fundraising consultant.
According to Crosby, this year’s grant money will go towards the process of renovating the exterior of their Scotts Addition theater space.
A total of $78,000 was distributed as part of the 2014 grant cycle – other winners include $10,000 for the Cadence Theatre Company, $12,000 for Henley Street Theatre, and $5,250 for WRIR 97.3FM Independent Radio.
