Starting the day with a grown-up egg hunt with many dressed in Sunday’s best. Instead of eggs, tiny bottles of Maker’s Mark and a few others hidden in the bushes for a little festive fun leading to mimosas. Word has it, there may still be leaves left unturned in the backyard.
A beautiful replica of Aretha Franklin’s inaugural hat made for a superior Easter bonnet…until it fell apart. There were no floats to be had in this parade – the people strolled down Monument Avenue with their babies and pups dressed in colorful get-ups.
Entering a residence on the Ave. for a house party, guests were greeted by a gracious host with a beautiful home. Then, magically appeared a nudist. People couldn’t help but look – but all were polite. It was Easter after all. Springtime in Richmond on Monument Avenue. One never knows what to expect.
