I guess some people are never happy. After Facebook announced their expanded gender options (with 56 total possibilities) the general reaction has been fairly positive. But that hasn’t kept a small, but vocal group of individuals from reminding us how ignorant sections of the world really are. Here’s a clip from Fox News (surprise?) talking down to the new announcement:
Fox News Contributor Todd Starnes echoed this sentiment in a Facebook post, saying “In the beginning God made man and woman — but Facebook decided to improve on the original models.” He then goes on to mock Facebook for its goal of being more inclusive and allowing people to represent their true selves
“What if you identify as a pine cone or a chicken or a weed whacker? Facebook doesn’t offer those options,” wrote Starnes.
