On June 12, 2016, the world was shocked and saddened by the news of a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, in which 49 people were killed and 53 others were wounded.
MTV’s documentary series “True Life,” will air a new episode Aug. 15 entitled, “We Are Orlando,” which profiles the survivors of the Orlando shooting. ”True Life” gives audiences a first-peson perspective of people’s lives and certain struggles, addictions, or other subcultures going on in society. The series has covered everything from mental illness, to cheerleading, to plastic surgery.
According to MTV, the episode will document four of the survivors as they try to cope with the tradegy as well as interviews with various member of the LGBTQ community. A first for the show for this episode, viewers will become acquainted with those featured on the program before the episode airs and follow their stories as they are being filmed. The network will release videos up until the premiere on Facebook and their other social media outlets so be the lookout for those.
