The organization estimates 1.9 percent of Virginia’s population is LGBT - 151,783 people with same-sex couple data from the census and Williams Institute. Six state officials are LGBT with one in the state legislature. The site also notes that Virginia has laws working against LGBT in relationship recognition (Marshall-Newman) and in stepparent & parental presumption.
