Back to school. Two local universities made the national Campus Climate Index recently updated to reflect the school’s efforts to create a safe and inclusive campus for LGBT students.
The University of Richmond received 3 out of 5 stars and the University of Virginia received 3.5 out of 5 stars.
The index has been around since 2001 and is owned and operated by Campus Pride. Institutions answer self-assessment questions about inclusive policies, employee partner benefits, and the availability of LGBT resources.
