Alright, everybody shut up, turn up their speakers real loud and blast this track:
The track, “BURNITUP!” is the newest single off of Janet Jacksons upcoming new album Unbreakable, her first since 2008′s Discipline.
Unbreakable was also released last week and so far critics are loving it.
The LA Times’ Mikael Woodsaid the record “shows off a quality even more valuable in a pop diva than the durability its title claims. It suggests Jackson is unsatisfied,” and noted the over all sound of the album feeds from both modern and classic Janet troupes. Expect some of the same, and updates and originals as well.
Entertainment Weekly’s Kyle Anderson saidUnbreakable is Janet’s “most sonically diverse set since 1997’s quirky, hypersexual The Velvet Rope.” The first single, “No Sleep,” exemplifies this, portraying a love story between the Diva and a younger man as they reunite and… well… you get the idea from that bass line:
While we haven’t heard the entire album yet, expect many nods to her late brother Michael in there as well – vocally you can hear it in BURNER the most, but evidently the rest of the record follows suit.
“Janet strikes a solid balance between innovation and dependability,” continued EW’s Anderson. “Bridging past and future better than most—including her legendary sibling.”
You can pick up Unbreakable on iTunes and other places online.
