“If you can move the South, you can move the nation” says one of the couples in a new Human Rights Campaign to support their Project One America campaign which hopes to shift the attitudes towards LGBTQ folks in southern states like Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas.

“People love their Southern roots, their families and they don’t want to leave their homes. So they are choosing to boldly speak out to effect change,” said Brad Clark, director of Project One America. “The interviews in this video are a courageous testament to the strength of LGBT people in the South.”

Part of the HRC venture aims to increase awareness and fundraising around LGBTQ issues in the south.
