Equality Virginia’s Commonwealth Dinner is one of the biggest social events of the year. Ticket prices to the organization’s signature fundraiser go up on Monday.
This year’s dinner is Saturday, Apil 16 at the Downtown Richmond Marriot including musical entertainment from Emme St. James and Her Jazz Gentleman and No BS Brass.
More on this year’s dinner from EV:
We’re throwing a New Orleans Block Party, and you know what that means: hot, swinging jazz.
Working that bayou magic will be Emme St. James and Her Jazz Gentlemen, who will open the reception with sultry vocals and classic swing rhythms. They’ve toured from New Orleans to New England, including hot spots across Miss St. James’ native Virginia. This elegant ensemble is sure to get the night cooking.
Then, Richmond Folk Festival favorite No BS Brass Band will lead everyone upstairs, New Orleans style, for dinner and presentation of 2011′s OUTstanding Virginians. Melding the spirit of New Orleans Jazz with their original East Coast modern funk, No BS Brass Band has quickly earned a reputation as a premiere band to see for an evening of heart-pounding energy and uncontrollable dancing.
Early bird registration for the dinner is $115 and is available here.
