Equality Virginia is sending out a petition to gather support to end workplace discrimination. The group is collecting names on their End Workplace Discrimination petition. EV plans to use these names to show members of the General Assembly the number of Virginia voters who support this issue.
In Virginia, there is no state-wide law to protect people from discrimination on the basis of their real or perceived sexual orientation in the private or public workplace. However, there is widespread acceptance of non-discrimination policies for GLBT employees. Equality Virginia needs help to translate this broad public support into action at the 2010 General Assembly.
