On a Sunday evening, you would expect to be lounging casually on the couch, except DEADLY DESSERTS was putting on their first annual fashion show.
DEADLY DESSERTS is a magazine celebrating a year and half of amazing accomplishments here in the Richmond area. Sunday night they showed off three fantastic, wild, and dazzling designers as well as the talents of miss Deanna Danger and her Graduates of her Boom Boom Basics Burlesques class.
The event was held at DOGTOWN DANCE THEATER with doors opening at 8pm. Dogtown was soon filled with friends family and fans of fashion! the three designers featured were… Leopard and Lace, Belladonna, and Couture Mannequin.
Leopard and Lace is one of a kind for fashion for rebels, barbies and bomb shells. Leopard and Lace has recently been inspired by the bold use of gold and silver metallic. It’s safe to say their outfits are a walk on the wild side! She also had her models sporting Black Cat Bordello jewelry. ( Black Cat Bordello specializes in making jewelry out of bones! ) Watch out, Leopard and Lace is EDGY!
Belladonna served couture, doll house realness with her sickening style and one of a kind headpieces that accent her outfits. All of her models were spot on conveying the emotion of dolls, and my vote for most out of the box!
The last designer was the one and only COUTURE MANNEQUIN. Between her Gaga mash up, the use of bright electric colored wigs, and the high energy impact of her models, Miss Mannequin stole the night, hunty!! Couture Mannequin makes and breaks the fashion rules and her models POSED, TURNED, and FLAUNTED down the runway as well as a little dancing (very reminiscent of ANTM finale when they walked on water.)
In between each designer, we had the amazing talents of Lilly Von Grim, Kimberly Kosmo, Ellie Quinn, Siren Sivette and the one and only Miss Deanna Danger! (Also one of the Sponsors of the night!)
Deanna is headmistress of Boom Boom Basics Burlesque & Performing Arts Studio. She is known as the warrior of burlesque, and voted #1 burlesque dancer in Style Weekly best of Richmond. Sign up today for boom boom basics and get your class credit card ready! Now 7 classes for $100!!
Michelle Livigne is the newest brand "CuzimEdgy." One of Richmond finest entertainers in the drag community, and now leaping her way to GAYRVA! Celebrating 5 years of drag entertainment, Michelle has graced stages From NY to Fl captivating audiences with her energetic dancing, precise choreography, and EDGY wit. Locally Michelle can be seen performing at Nu Nightclub and Babes of Carytown and on occasion Fallout. Dont let her cute face fool ya - she will color outside the lines and bite back!
