Creating An LGBTQ Space At Occupy Richmond
Read More: Occupy Richmond

You’ve probably heard the latest knews that the Occupy Richmond protesters have moved from parks to the personal residence of Richmond Free Press publisher Ray Boone. Boone happens to live next to Mayor Dwight Jones.
This week, an organizer of Occupy Richmond is opening up her home to discuss where LGBTQ fall in the movement. This LGBTQ Caucus meeting organized via Facebook is Saturday, Nov. 19 at a personal residence – the individual can be contacted via Facebook.
From Facebook:
This space is a safe space to discuss LGBTQ involvement with Occupy Richmond but also to build community, so if you have not been involved with Occupy Richmond please feel free to lend your voice and experience to this group. As for now this is a closed space to maintain a sensitive and open forum for those that may not feel safe being “out” in that space. For all allies interested in attending, we will hopefully be able to open membership when it is agreed upon by the group. Thank you for your support and the ability to understand the need for these boundaries. Please contact me for more information if necessary.
Oh yeah, this space is a sober space.
