Capital One’s LGBT Network and ROSMY are sponsoring an essay contest based on the theme “Invite. Inspire. Include.” The winning entries will be featured at a Capital One Pride Culmination Event in June and the winners will have the opportunity to read their essays aloud. Details below.
How to participate Write a personal essay using the topic “Invite. Inspire. Include. What do these words mean to you as an LGBTQ person and/or ally?” You must be between the ages of 14 and 20, and your essay should be 1,000–1,500 words.
How to submit Email your essay to Capital One’s LGBT Network, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send your essay as either a PDF or Microsoft Word attachment.
Deadline and judging Submit your essay by Tuesday, June 9. The judges will be looking for how clearly you express yourself, how well thought-out your essay is, and how well you cover the topic. Win up to $100 Prizes include $100 for First Place, and two $25 Honorable Mentions.
Winners will be awarded their prizes at the Capital One Pride Month Culmination Event in late June.
