His cruel and insensitive jokes about non-binary people and school shooting survivors only make his unfortunate return to the world of stand-up comedy even more terrible.

Just when you thought Louis C.K. was gone, your favorite serial sexual assaulter is back with more “comedy” for your listening displeasure.
Apparently the pseudo-apology Louis C.K. gave when five people came forward to accuse him of sexual assault (“These stories are true”) was even more of a huge pile of crap than we realized. At the time he said, “I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.”
But by August, he was performing at The Comedy Cellar once again. Now he’s starting to do his rounds in the comedy scene like nothing ever happened. He performed a series of live dates at Long Islands’ Governors Comedy Club in December, and has at least tried to book other shows around the country.
Worst of all, he seems to have decided to go full on Roseanne in the process. It wasn’t enough to just masturbate in front of five people without their consent, now he’s deciding to go after a full-on red state fanbase. In recently leaked audio from one of the Governors Comedy Club dates, Louis C.K decided to attack both the trans community and survivors of the Parkland school shooting.
“Testify in front of Congress, these kids, what the fuck? What are you doing?” C.K. said during his set, according to CNN. “‘Cause you went to a high school where kids got shot, why does that mean I have to listen to you? Why does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I gotta listen to you talking?”
It’s not enough that these teenagers had to watch their peers murdered, they get to be mocked by a hack comedian as well, and only ten months after the Parkland shooting. I’m sure they appreciate it.
As if that wasn’t enough, C.K. also had comments about the non-binary members of our community, and how something as easy as a pronoun is too much of an inconvenience for him.
“They’re like royalty!” C.K. continued in the audio. “They tell you what to call them. ‘You should address me as they/them, because I identify as gender-neutral.’ Oh, OK. You should address me as ‘there’ because I identify as a location. And the location is your mother’s cunt.”
There is so much to unpack in the entire situation with C.K. Before the allegations came to light, he always seemed like the one who actually “got it.” He was the one straight-white-male comedian who felt like a real ally to so many people. He had valid points on life that just made sense, and made you not only laugh, but also nod your head in a very solemn “Yeah. Same,” kind of vibe.
However, honestly? Now it just feels like he cares more about having a career than being a human being and treating others with kindness, as fellow humans with feelings. Which is ironic, as he used to proclaim that everyone should be more diligent about the way they handle their interactions.
Whatever happened to that guy, he’s clearly gone now. So in 2019, can we all just agree that C.K. is trash and take him out to the curb?
