LA GRANDE, Ore. — Jadin Bell, a 15-year-old gay teen who hanged himself two weeks ago after complaining of bullying, died Sunday afternoon at Doernbecher Children’sHospital on Portland.
Jadin was taken off life support more than a week ago after tests showed no brain activity.
Bud Hill, a close family friend, told The Oregonian earlier this week that Jadin, who was openly gay, had complained the week prior that he was being bullied, and had talked to a counselor at La Grande High School, where he was a sophomore.
