Counseling Student Must Follow Ethics Code

    May 17, 2012The Rainbow Minute

In December 2011, a three-judge panel of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s decision and rejected the claim of Jennifer Keeton.  She believed that her First Amendment rights were violated when Augusta State University required her to treat LGBT people in a respectful and nondiscriminatory way. ...

Peter and Brian met at that most Richmond of Richmond hangouts, Buddy’s, through mutual friends. Peter was originally from Northern Virginia and Brian was from Suffolk. When asked how long they have been a couple, Peter responds, “We have been together for one hundred years!”

Peter is a lobbyist and an attorney for AARP who previously worked for the Democratic Party of Virginia and Brian is a purchasing/procurement specialist.

They were married in San Francisco in Mayor Gavin Newsome’s office at San Francisco City Hall, where over 4,000 people were married in a week and a half.

Their commitment to marriage becomes clear when asking Peter why marriage was necessary for him and Brian after so lengthy a relationship.

“I guess we chose to marry because we’re each other’s best friend and we are in love,” he explains, clearly aware that he enjoys the luckiest of circumstances.” Is there any better reason?”

Love Unites Richmond
