Pattern Trend: Animal Prints and Ethnic Patterns.
Animal prints have always been a feature in design schemes from the formal to the casual, modern to traditional, but usually as an accent. Now is the time to let those animal prints out of their cage and onto everything from walls to furniture to floors! Whether cheetah, zebra, or leopard, these prints work with any color scheme and any level of formality. Just remember scale and proportion: a large sofa would look busy in a small leopard pattern.
Along with the international appeal of animal prints comes the return of the ikat and suzani ethnic patterns. Both these patterns give a sense of a natural, earthy feel and come in any color combination to fit in almost any design scheme.
