Find it around town, online, or at VA PrideFest this Saturday!

VA PrideFest is a celebration of the power, spirit, and creativity of the Commonwealth’s LGBT citizens, and this year’s VA Pride Guide will showcase our vibrant community in fine style! Now more than ever, solidarity is important in order to strengthen the gains the LGBTQ community has made in recent years, and continue working towards a brighter future. With a history of uniquely LGBTQ-centered coverage dating back to 2009, GayRVA–which remains the only journalistic advocate for the Richmond and Virginia LGBTQ community–is the ideal partner to work with VA Pride yet again on this publication.
Pride is first and foremost a celebration of LGBTQ community, and VA PrideFest is very much in that spirit. Music, art, and culture have long been the focus of GayRVA and our partners at RVA Magazine, which has a decade-plus history of its own unparalleled local coverage. This partnership guarantees plenty of entertaining content relating to much more enjoyable topics, helping to remind us all exactly what it is we’re so proud of.
Plenty of serious issues still face the LGBTQ community in 2017, though, and you can also expect this guide to include more of the unique and extensive coverage of LGBTQ issues and community that has become our hallmark over the past decade. We will spotlight those working to turn the tide against the discriminatory backlash LGBTQ people have faced in recent years, and to feature the voices of those within the local community who deal with the struggle on a day-to-day basis.
