Looking for design advice? This Thursday, May 13, interior designers Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams will appear at Ruth & Ollie, a high-end furniture and design store in Carytown for a signing of their new book: The Comfortable Home—How to Invest in Your Nest and Live Well for Less. The hardcover book is available for $35 (Clarkson Potter/Publishers).
From the press release:
The founders of the eponymously-named internationally acclaimed furniture company, Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams wrote the book to coincide with their firm’s 20th anniversary. Based on their two decades of experience, The Comfortable Home offers timely how-to advice, easy-to-follow-step-by-steps, and inspiring photography. Throughout the book, sumptuous original photography provides stimulating tours of real homes, including Mitchell and Bob’s New York City apartment, a country cottage, a revitalized ranch, and a Federal-style home in the city.
Williams and Gold suggest that the key to smart investing in your home is planning. While the book is full of great photos, its content is rather simplistic. The authors are not fans of big color. Much of what they suggest is neutral, and they don’t take risks. The Comfortable Home is a good introduction for design novices, but is not for those looking for ground-breaking ideas.
The book signing is from 6-8 pm and during the event, if you buy one book, you’ll get one free. RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
