The second year for Richmond Beer Week, presented by Great Brewers.com, Specialty Beverage, Brown Distributing and Taste the Local,  is right around the corner and we have your picks for the entire week.

November 4
The Fanhouse probably has the most interesting event of the night with their beer dinner and a movie.  They will be showing Big Trouble in Little China.  If you don’t want to do the dinner, they will be showing the movie downstairs as well.

Fanhouse Crazy Dumplings prepared three different ways with Schneider Hopfen Weiss
Micro Arugula, Candied Ginger, Duck Confit, White Cheddar, Vidalia Onion- Orange Vinaigrette with Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA
Pan Seared Scallops over Undon and Roasted Pumpkin, served in a spicy Thai style broth with Ommegang Gnomegang
Venison Osso Bucco served over Sweet Potato and Leek Hash, finished with a Port Reduction with Schlenkerla Oak Smoke
Dessert Sushi and Bento Box Sampler with Thirsty Dog Siberian Night

November 5
Saturday, you will want to stay in Church Hill for Ardent Craft Ales Courtyard Party (noon – 5pm) then hop over to The Roosevelt for A Terrapin Tap Takeover (5pm until…) DJ will start at 11 p.m. so there very well could be some dancing.

Ardent Craft Ales party will be on Jefferson Ave, between 24th and 25th in Church Hill.

November 6
Autumn Bottom Brews will be the place to be Sunday.  Eight different local breweries to choose from: Legend, Hardywood Park, Starr Hill, Devils Backbone, Roanoke Railhouse, Bull & Bones, O’Connor and Wolf Hills.

This is probably the most intriguing beer dinner menu I have seen in a while.  Rather than simply pairing the dishes with beer, dishes will also be cooked with beer.  Les Addis from Allagash Brewing will be your host for the evening.

Smoky Beer Night — 5 p.m.

Head to Capital Ale House’s Downtown location for a night of smoked beers from breweries such as Schlenkerla, Victory, and Weyerbacher.

The Eleven — 4 p.m.

With Lincoln filming in the city, a lot of events are starting to sounds like movie titles.  The stars of this Mekong event are eleven beers of crazy quality tapped throughout the night.

Starr Hill Night at The Camel — 7 p.m.

It’s only fitting that Starr Hill would have a night at The Camel.  Just take a look at the bios of the brewery crew and look at the variety of musical tastes.  Join Mike Andres and taste your way through Starr Hill’s award winning beers as well as some small batch brews.  Hang around for music from Silo Effect.

Beer-istoric Tour

So my pick for this day sold out weeks ago.  Tickets went on sale some time ago at Mekong and Capital Ale Downtown. Tickets at Mekong were sold out in the first couple of days.  Don’t worry if you couldn’t grab a ticket, I will be there tweeting from Richmond Beermeister.
