A Fairyglamother Makeover
Carol Joyce was the lucky winner of a complete makeover and was given the royal treatment on Tuesday. The contest from 103.7 The River and GayRVA.com included a day at Flirt Salon, A $100 gift certificate for Lex’s of Carytown, and makeup at Lavish Apothecary.
The day began with a limousine to escort Carol and her entourage for the day. This entourage consisted of 103.7′s Melissa Chase and Meagan Burkett as well as GayRVA’s resident stylist Rae Berryman.
The first stop was at Flirt Salon on Cary. The group was greeted at the door with raspberry lemonade and fresh strawberries. Carol was led upstairs where she was treated to a refreshing facial with Michele. The next step was the hair, which is always a drastic step in the makeover process. Carol, who had never colored her hair, left the fate of her hair in the hands of the stylist. It was decided that an angled bob with all over color and highlights to create a rich caramel color would be the best choice, so they went to work. With coloring, a Flirtini wash treatment, and cut by Delisa, Carol was on cloud nine.
While her color was processing, Carol had a mini manicure and Pedicure by Chrissy. The China Glaze nail polish selection presented several options, but the winner for the day was “Limbo Bimbo”, a pink color that was fun and summery. After the manicure Delisa went to work putting the finishing touches on the hair. The color was beautiful with highlights blended throughout creating a sunkissed brown that really complimented her skin tone. The cut was immaculate and modern and a great addition to the new look.
After Flirt, the limousine took the group to Lex’s Of Carytown, where Rae and Melissa pulled outfit options for Carol. Through several fun and flirty A-Line dresses and peasant blouses, the winner was a coral colored strapless blouse that gathered at the waist and draped beautifully to the lower hip. The shirt was paired with a khaki pair of fitted harem shaped trousers that can be worn multiple ways and will be a great piece for her to have in her wardrobe. Delicate chandelier earrings were chosen to accessorize this outfit and her new short bob. Carol looked confident and cool in this ensemble.
The final part of the makeover took the group to Lavish Apothecary to add some final touches. Take a look at the makeover below.
