SOTD – Destroyer – Savage Night at the Opera
Read More:

Destroyer is the music project of Canadian born Daniel Bejar. Though this song was recorded last year, it’s so 80′s, it’s still excited about the second Back to the Future movie and thinks River Phenix will win an oscar by the age of 35.
Destroyer’s most recent album ‘Kaputt’ won much praise, and rightly so. It harkens back to Bowie and Pavement records. It’s a shoe gaze party, and only those with their own coke are invited.
Bejar started with Destroyer in 1996. He gained moderate success, but it wasn’t long before he was burned out by the music industry and put the project on hold while he vacationed in spain for an indefinite period of time. (We should all be so lucky)
He came back to Canada in 2000 and put out Thief, which again gained great critical acclaim. His work with the New Pornographers furthered his success. There are lots of chances to drop indie band names in this article, but I wont – just enjoy the jams and let us know what you think!
Bonus SOTD track: the single off of Kaputt – check that sax solo…
