The Richmond Triangle Players are keeping busy this fall season.
On top of “The Beebo Brinker Chronicles,” the theater is hosting various other events events throughout the month.
The Richmond Men’s Chorus and Richmond Women’s Chorus cabaret event, “Broadway Our Way” featuring songs people know and love, but with a unique twist. The women sing men’s songs and men singing women’s – with the original pronouns intact. The songs can mean something entirely new. “Broadway Our Way” will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
Legendary TV icon “Madame” returns to the Triangle Players in “It’s Madame with an ‘E’!” featuring the irrepressible and irreverent diva, best known for her appearances on Hollywood Squares and countless prime-time specials. The show is part Broadway musical, part autobiography and all fun. “It’s Madame with an ‘E’!” runs Oct. 15-17.
The world’s finest Barbra Streisand impersonator, Steven Brinberg, will appear in “Simply Barbra” in two performances, Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23. Brinberg has performed as Barbra all over the world and has appeared various television shows. He even performed at Donna Karan’s birthday party – sent by Ms. Streisand herself!
Tonight at 5:30 pm across the country, an estimated 700 theaters will participate in an event called The Ghostlight Project. On the eve of the 45th Presidential inauguration, ranging from Broadway to regional academic or community theaters, people will gather to symbolically create light for what they perceive as dark times ahead.
