Jeremy Renner takes the place of Matt Damon as a CIA superagent , who’s life is threatened by his own boss. The plot unravels slowly and is confusing for a while. However, multiple unexplained events and sharp filmmaking maintain interest. Other than some quick fights, almost all of the action takes place in one final burst. Following the style of the previous Bourne’s, there’s flashy editing and blurry camerawork, which makes it hard to tell what’s happening…other than lots of noise and pain. Renner is sternly commendable and cool in his new character and the rest of the cast is appropriately intense. While it doesn’t break new ground, this film does effectively re-launch the series and presents a solid, big-budget entertainment.
GAY ANGLE: Renner shows off his buff physique..several times.
Jerry Williams reviewed movies for WTVR-TV for 14 years and for Style Weekly for 10 years. When he launched his own website in 1998 at TVJerry.com, he took his reviews to the Internet. Through those hundreds of reviews, Jerry kept his sexual orientation muted. So, he's excited to be adding "gay angles" to his postings for GayRVA.com.
