On Thursday, November 19, RTP is partnering with the Central Virginia Food Bank to help those in need. In the spirit of the season, anyone coming to the theater with at least one can of food or other non-perishable item will receive free admission to the show that night! It’s that simple! The items that are most urgently needed: peanut butter; canned tuna, salmon, chicken and ham; canned fruits and vegetables; hot and cold cereals; and pasta and rice.
Please note: Offer is good for November 19 performance only. Tickets cannot be reserved in advance. While we will make every effort to seat all the patrons who arrive, there is always a chance that the performance will sell out.
The performance is at 8 p.m. at the Empire Theatre complex at 114 W. Broad St.
Tonight at 5:30 pm across the country, an estimated 700 theaters will participate in an event called The Ghostlight Project. On the eve of the 45th Presidential inauguration, ranging from Broadway to regional academic or community theaters, people will gather to symbolically create light for what they perceive as dark times ahead.
