Last Sunday, members of Richmond’s LGBTQ community gathered at the Renaissance ballroom in Downtown to find out some of the many options available to them as they plan their finally-legal weddings.
The afternoon event was highlighted by a fashion show with out wedding dresses and tuxes provided by local designers, a vender show, and plenty of sweets.
But one of the biggest draws was the chance at a All-Expenses-Paid Wedding worth about $25K.
And the winners, Jim Morgan and Dan Stackhouse (pictured above – Left: Dan Stackhouse, Right: Jim Morgan. ), couldn’t have been more deserving. After being together for 16 years, the two were thrilled to finally tie the knott.
“Marriage is a not only a public way of saying ‘I love you,’ but also ‘I love who we are,’” said Morgan and Stackhouse in their entry form for the contest. “Richmond is a large part of who we are. We love each other. We love our community. We love this city. We couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.”
