The holiday season is just around the corner, and some of RVA’s best drag queens want to celebrate it with you, and give back to the community at the same time.
Michelle Livigne, Monica Duvall Ferrah, and Millenium C. Snow make up the Triple X Divas, and their series of Thursday night shows at Babe’s are heating up, but keeping their hearts big.
“We, as a cast, just wanted to do something together to give back,” said Livigne. ”And since Thanksgiving is almost here tis the season to do something for someone else.”
Each show, the Triple X Divas will ask the audience to bring canned goods to donate to the Central Virginia Food Bank.
“If we don’t give back we’re just going to feel guilty every time we see Sarah McLachlan on TV,” said Livigne, who hopes her recent title as Miss Capital City will help support the cause. “But seriously, you get a great feeling inside when you do something positive or helpful for someone else.”
“Its makes the soul happy and brings a smile to someone who forgot they could,” said Livigne. “all because someone took the time to care about them without knowing them.”
Expect outrageous outfits and powerful performances, as well as a few surprises, as the Thursday night shows continue throughout the year.
Bring those canned goods, and keep an eye out for a toy drive before Christmas is in full swing.
