According to Clarence Thompson, Thursdays will never be the same again. Thompson hopes to “rehabilitate” the weeknight and LGBT nightlife through Rehab Thursdays, a party in the city’s West End.
The party’s slogan – “We got your Rx for your pre-weekend jitters.”
El Tucanazo at 6008 W. Broad St. plays host to tonight’s event. According to Thompson, it’s the perfect place to party and get that pre-weekend fix.
“It’s a bigger venue than some other establishments in the area. They have a nice size dance floor two bars and also a stage great sound system ample parking and two rooms to party.”
He hopes for the night to blossom into a premier night for RVA and sees the potential fo an extended drag show and drag theater dinners. For tonight, doors open at 9 p.m. with music by Dream Team DJs. A show hosted by Zakia Jemaceye at 10:30 p.m. follows with drink specials until 11 p.m. Cover is $5 before 11 p.m.
