The classic summer camp comedy featuring some of the best comedians the 90′s had a succesful relaunch as a Netflix series last summer, now “Wet Hot American Summer” is coming back again as another eight part series, this time on yet another different timeline in the universe.
“Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later” will be written by the movie’s original team, Michael Showalter and David Wain, with Wain again directing. Executive Producers are Michael Showalter, David Wain, Peter Principato, Jonathan Stern and Howard Bernstein.
While the original “Wet Hot American Summer” movie opened in 2001 to cult classic status, Netflix brought the show back as a series in 2015. Original cast members including Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Michael Ian Black, Amy Poehler and many many more returned to their roles, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp,” though the show took place the day before the original movie started.
Now it appears this new show will take place 10 years after the end of the movie, which famously ended with the scene featured in the new trailer seen below:
Wet Hot American Summer played host to a number of celebrity breakout performances, including a heart-melting marriage and love scene featuring Bradley Cooper and Michale Ian Black who both appear ready to return for the “10 Years Later” series.
