Lady Gaga drops new video for ‘Perfect Illusion’ with disappointingly traditional look

The once-Queen of pop music had all but disappeared from the limelight as of late but she’s hoping to return to her thorne with a new track, album and music video – but I have to admit, so far I’m not that impressed.
Before we get shitty, check out the new video below:
While the track isn’t terrible, it certainly lacks the weird-vibes she once offered up to queens around the globe as an alternative to mainstream pop. What’s left is surprisingly bland, blond shaking her ass in the desert like so many pop stars before her.
Our first hint of her push away from the weird was her 2016 Super Bowl performance. This was the first time the nation saw Gaga for a while and it certainly didn’t ring true to her early message of inclusion, originality and equality as she belted out the National Anthem for a sport dominated by heteronormativity.
Where’s the meat-dress clad nonconformist who wooed us with Euro-pop ballads about being yourself and who is this Walker Texas Ranger-facsimile who replaced her?
Perhaps we were used, once again, as a spring board to mainstream success – “Thank’s for being fans,” she could be saying in the video as she drives off into the desert. “It’s been real, but I’ve got straight people to sell MP3s too.”
Ke$ha, I mean, Lady Gaga drops her new album, Joanne, on Oct. 21st. It’s her first record since her 2014 duet release with Tony Bennet, Cheek to Cheek, and her first original release since 2013′s Artpop.
Think we’re being too judgmental? Let us know in the comments. Otherwise, please go check out Carly Rae Jepsen
