California-based singer, songwriter and actress Hayley Kiyoko has a lot to be excited about – she’s on the second half a US tour, has a new EP, CITRINE, she dropped in late 2016,and NOW she’s got a new video spotlighting queer women in love.
While Kiyoko seems to be hush-hush on specifics about her sexuality, this is the second time she’s used the visual medium to show two ladies in love. Check out the new, ever-so-sexy video for “Sleepover” below:
Kiyoko has taken to her tumblr to breakdown some of her thoughts on gender and love. While she doesn’t believe sexuality should define who or what you are, she said it does help who you become.
“This music video for “Sleepover” is not a concept or an idea for me. It is my life. It defines a part of who I am today,” she wrote. “I grew up a dreamer and found comfort through a safe haven in my head. It’s where I was able to find self-love and feel validated. This music video validates those feelings for me, even if in those moments the girl I fell for was unavailable. I made this video to help validate those fantasies. To create a space for the lovers, dreamers and seekers. Falling in love can be a bittersweet feeling, especially if you know it’ll never be reciprocated. I think we can all relate to that.”
