This Friday night, Balliceaux will open its doors to go-go dancers, DJ’s, and queer folks of all kinds in an event sure to keep your feet moving and your thirst quenched.
The group throwing the shin-dig, RAIN, is a local collective of people who love Richmond, fashion, and having a good time. They have been putting fashion shows and events together for about two years, and throwing parties at Balliceaux for about one year. “One of our 1st DJ’s that we ever worked with gave us leeway into Balliceaux as he introduced “RAIN” and Myself to the event BOOKER Chris Bopst, and We’ve loved doing events there ever since,” said RAIN’s Founder and owner Steven Franco Ramirez.
RAIN started as a fashion-forward collective and has since spawned 10 fashion shows and eight major parties. “I had the idea of starting a small organization that could help individuals with Creative talents, such as Fashion designers, Models, Photographers, graphic designers, musicians, dancers and more,” said Ramirez.
Friday’s Disco is set to highlight a local dance group, LIPSTICK RVA. Here’s some footage of them dancing to Salt N Peppa’s “Push it”
LIPSTICK RVA will open the night, and the rest of the evening will feature beats by DJ Chase Hodsdon.

Animal RVA will return to Balliceaux this weekend for their monthly gig, this time, in support of the Richmond Peace Education Center.
