Each year up to 15,000 people attend VA Pridefest, and with the growth of the LGBTQ movement, we expected an even higher turnout of enthusiastic LGBTQ and ally folks this year.
While marriage equality dominated 2015, the rights of the rest of the spectrum continue to be out of reach and we here at GayRVA are proud to work with Virginia Pride to help amplify those voices and issues.
With the support from one of the most powerful seats in the Commonwealth, and local artists and creators, as well as in depth coverage of important issues which continue to affect our community, the 2016 Pride Guide will not only provide information for the happenings the weekend of Virginia Pride, it will serve as a permanent reminder for attendees that they were there when civil rights were being challenged and won.
Check out a digital version of the guide below!
We’ll also be celebrating the release of the Pride Guide, as well as putting a number of local “celebrities” in full drag for a Virginia Pride Benefit show tomorrow at Babe’s of Carytown. Come on out, watch the newest episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race and check out the show featuring GayRVA’s Editor as well as other local folks unlike you’ve ever seen them before!
