Catie Curtis was named a folk-rock goddess by The New Yorker. This Boston-native has almost a dozen albums under her belt and she performs songs from her latest release Stretch Limousine on Fire this Friday, September 2 at Ashland Coffee & Tea.

Aside from touring, Curtis’ busy schedule includes officiating nontraditional weddings, raising two daughters with her partner and allocating funds for her Aspire to Inspire endowment.
Curtis started Aspire to Inspire, an initiative to fund the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Foundation. This foundation purchases instruments for young artists who can’t afford to purchase their own. Curtis and friends have donated money totaling over $10,000 which allowed the foundation to purchase new instruments in 2008 for 12 aspiring young artists.
Ashland Coffee and Tea is located at 100 N. Railroad Avenue, Ashland, Va 23005. The show is Friday, September 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $18 to $23.
