Casting has been announced for the Richmond engagement of Disney’s THE LION KING. Richmond’s most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Altria Theater stage from Tuesday, April 19 to Sunday, May 8. The press opening night is Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 pm. The show’s four-week premiere engagement in 2012 played a sold-out run.
The production features Patrick R. Brown as “Scar,” Gerald Ramsey as “Mufasa,”Mukelisiwe Goba as “Rafiki,” Drew Hirshfield as “Zazu,” Ben Lipitz as “Pumbaa,”Nick Cordileone as “Timon,” Aaron Nelson as “Simba,” Nia Holloway as “Nala,” Keith Bennett as “Banzai,” Tiffany Denise Hobbs as “Shenzi” and Robbie Swift as “Ed.”
The role of “Young Simba” is alternated between BJ Covington and Julian Rivera-Summerville and the role of “Young Nala” is alternated between Savanna Fleisherand Imani Pullum.
In Richmond, THE LION KING will play Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:00 and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 and 6:30 pm with one weekday matinee on Thursday, May 5 at 2:00 pm. Premium Ticket Packages, which include prime seat locations, a commemorative souvenir program and an exclusive merchandise item, are also available.
