Out of closets, the streets come alive this Saturday, June 12 as Capital Pride takes place in Washington, DC.
This year’s parade theme “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” showcases non-profit organizations, small business, elected officials and candidates who are all set to make America a more accepting environment for all.
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. with streets lined by tens of thousands of people watching and celebrating. The Best of DC has voted the parade the best in the city three years in a row. As a chance to show America how many supporters Capital Pride has extended an invitation for Richmond, VA families and friends to attend the event.
Just after Christmas, the Washington State Human Rights Commission adopted new policies allowing transgender individuals access to use public restrooms and locker rooms according to the gender they identify with.
