A-list stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney will join several others in a live streaming performance of Dustin Lance Black’s play “8″ on Saturday night.
Pitt and Clooney will join Kevin Bacon, Martin Sheen and Jane Lynch for a one-night-only benefit reading. Black’s play draws from court transcripts of the lawsuit against California’s anti-marriage equality Proposition 8, combined with the stories of the two couples bringing the court challenge against it. Black, who is openly gay, won an Academy Award in 2009 for his screenplay for Milk.
All proceeds from the performance will be donated to the American Federation for Equal Rights, the sponsor of the suit against Prop. 8. It will air at 10:30 Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, March 3. More information can be found here.
