A location has been chosen for the 2012 Symphony Designer House, in which a bi-annual fundraiser is held featuring daily house tours and a gala preview party.
The location, Pinifer Park, is set in a stately Queen-Anne style house within Midlothian. Originally, the house was built as a summer retreat for the Edwin C. Laird family on a 238 acre estate.
The family would move their household back-and-forth from their Park Avenue home in Richmond’s fan district. After two years, the moving became monotonous, and they moved into their summer home permanently. The Lairds were the first house outside of Bon Air to have telephone service, and electricity was added in 1921.
Now the house has become a “centerpiece” of Pinifer Park Properties (PPP) new development. The house will be up for sale following the RSOL event. The Designer House event will be jumpstarted by a “Bare Bones” kick-off party on August 2, where selected designers begin to transform the 1910 house for a modernized, twenty-first century appeal.
The house will be empty of all furniture and décor during the tour, and will be open to the public.
The semi-annual fundraiser for Richmond Symphony kicks off with a Gala Preview Party on September 7, and will be open for daily tours from September 10 until October 8. Throughout this month there will be availability for special events and private parties to be booked at this Queen-Anne designer house.
Tickets in advance for the house tour will be available at all Kroger locations beginning August 1.
However, after September 9, all tickets must be purchased at the door for 20 dollars. Not only will visitors be provided with a tour of the 18 spacious and breath-taking design areas, but they will have the chance to stroll through the gardens and grounds, enjoy lunch in the café and shop at the Designer House Boutique located in the Caretakers Cottage.
A few designers, such as artee¢ fabrics and home, David Barden Interior Design, Brazier Gallery, Bridget Beari Designs, Kathy Corbet Interiors, Custom Kitchens, Inc., Sonia Goddard, Sunny Goode Decorative Art and The Rue, H. P. Grace and Company and Interiors by Moyanne are just a few to name who will be present at the RSOL Designer House event.
