On June 19 at 8 p.m. at the Gay Community Center of Richmond, our friend John Porter presents some of Richmond’s best undiscovered talent.  Here’s his personal invitation to the show:

I’ve done a few quiet shows, knocking a little rust off here and there and working on new material – shaping and crafting clever lines that will quickly rush out of my head as soon as I hit the stage…

But FEAR NOT my amigo and/or amiga, because I have surrounded myself with some of the funniest people that I can find in my price range. Even if I blow this wonderful opportunity, there are several other great comics, and one up-and-coming team of comedians, that will find your funny bone, tickle it, and even hold it hostage if they have to in order to make sure you have a great time.

I am predicting great things for these comedians and I think you will be glad you caught them in an intimate setting.

For a mere $10, you get about two hours of great comedy and a portion of the proceeds go to help fund the Center and continue their mission. The Center is one of those great institutions that helps a number of projects throughout the Richmond Community.

Who else will be on stage? Check out this lineup: Joe Hafkey, Karen Kacey, The Undergrads – John Reaves and Omari Brown, Santa De Haven, Patrick Vickers, and me – John Porter. It’s a great mix of youthful enthusiasm and more mature observations.

Forget that – there’s very little mature in this show – except some of the language…

I hope we can count on you. You’ll enjoy the comedy, you’ll be impressed with the Center, and you might want to come back and play BINGO later. It’s worth it.

Thanks for your time, and if you have any questions, please call me or email me and I’ll make up something for you.

In Laughter

Your pal,
John Porter
