Empress Hosts Grand Soiree Tomorrow

The Empress has made quite the splash for being open only two weeks. Owner Melissa Barlow says she doesn’t want good cuisine to be intimidating. That’s why the Euro-inspired fare all comes in under $13. Barlow describes the food as social cuisine, so all the plates are just right for sharing.

Two doors down from The Republic on Broad Street, they open at 6:30 a.m. each morning for breakfast with fresh scones, muffins, and espresso. For late night, they serve dessert until 1 a.m. – which includes crepes and a creme brulee duJour like chai or strawberry tea-infused.

Tomorrow night, Barlow opens the doors for a Grand Soiree. The restaurant’s grand opening will offer complimentary heavy hor’dourves of menu items and wine tasting.
